Sheila and Albert drove to Halifax and together we toasted the weekend with a glass of wine!! We did not realize that dressing the same would be the theme for a big part of the weekend!

Friday evening we went for a walk downtown.

Steve and I missed the "jelly bean" coloured houses everywhere.

Who would have thought that the MacMurdos would find their own lane!

Velma's restaurant is known for traditional NL food. Here is a plate with fried cod tongues with scrunchons (deep fried pieces of bacon fat!!). It really was good. The fried cod was also fabulous. Leave it to NL to fry or deep fry even fat!

Moomoos is the corner store where I had many turtle cheesecake ice creams!! My favourite.

This is where we used to live, in the basement. We could still see the pink salmon colour of the living room!! Some things do not change.

Too stuffed to eat any more, we only took a picture of the sausage wagon the guarantees 9 inches and a half a pound.

Tired from traveling and eating, we played cards at our apartment. What a relaxing first day in NewFoundland.
